Lindsay Lohan's dad arrested

TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay Lohan, was arrested Tuesday in Tampa, Fla., for allegedly beating his girlfriend at their home, police said.

He was arrested about 1 a.m. EDT on domestic violence charges and taken briefly to a local hospital after complaining of chest pains. He was booked into Hillsborough County Jail after doctors gave him medical clearance, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

The woman who called police was not identified, but police said she is a former girlfriend of reality TV star John Gosselin.

Lohan was also arrested on domestic violence charges in California this year.

Police said Lohan, 51, has been working as the director of marketing for Larasan Pharmaceuticals, based in Florida.


Winehouse report went to wrong address

LONDON, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Britain's Scotland Yard says it is investigating why documents relating to the death of singer Amy Winehouse went to the wrong address.

The report detailing Winehouse's death earlier this year was supposed to go to her family but it ended up in the hands of a stranger who turned it over to police Friday night, The Independent reported Wednesday.

"Police were informed that material relating to a forthcoming inquest may have been delivered to an incorrect address. Inquiries are now under way to establish the full circumstances of this matter," a Scotland Yard spokesman said.

An inquest into the 27-year-old singer's death is to reopen this week.


Lady Gaga to perform at Grammy nominations

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Country artist Jason Aldean and Grammy-winner Lady Gaga will perform at the Grammy nominations concert Nov. 30 in Los Angeles, organizers said.

Aldean and Lady Gaga are the first performers to be announced for the 1-hour special hosted by LL Cool J that will air live from the Nokia Theatre on CBS from 10 to 11 p.m. EDT.

The show will announce nominations in several categories as well as feature performances by past Grammy winners, The Recording Academy said Wednesday in a release.

The 2012 Grammy Awards will be broadcast Sunday, Feb. 12.


Scott Baio plays dad in Nickelodeon pilot

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Former teen heartthrob Scott Baio will play a stay-at-home dad in "Daddy's Home," a pilot ordered by Nickelodeon's Nick at Nite, the network said.

Nickelodeon said it is the first original scripted comedy pilot ever ordered by the network.

"Scott Baio is an actor known and beloved by today's Nick at Nite viewers, many of whom are parents," Marjorie Cohn, head of original programming and development at Nickelodeon, said Wednesday in a release.

"His new project will put a contemporary and comedic twist on parenthood that will make for a great addition to our existing slate of family programming," she said.

Baio, a former teen idol turned VH1 reality TV star, will play an actor who spent 10 years starring as America's favorite TV dad before becoming a stay-at-home father to honor a deal he made with his soap star wife, Nickelodeon said.
