Couric, 54, has been the anchor and managing editor of "CBS Evening News" for five years but her contract expires in June, sparking media speculation about whether she will remain with the program, contribute to another existing show, start a new one on CBS or leave the network altogether.

TMZ quoted network sources it did not identify Monday as saying Couric likely will leave CBS because she feels her role there has been too confining and wants to start up her own syndicated talk show in September 2012.

The "CBS Evening News" has struggled in viewer ratings during Couric's tenure.

NORMAN REEDUS: U.S. director Michelle Danner's next film, "Hello Herman," will be about a bullied teen who snaps and shoots dozens of people, the drama's producers said.

Starring Norman Reedus, the movie has begun production in the Los Angeles area. It is Danner's second feature-length movie, following "How to Go Out on a Date in Queens."

Reedus is best known for his work in the "Boondock Saints" movies and the TV show "The Walking Dead."

"Taunted and tormented, [Herman] armed himself and took revenge by shooting dozens in a bloody fury. Now incarcerated, a national debate springs up around him as to whether or not to execute him. He'll tell his story to the world through one journalist, Lax Morales, an award-winning reporter who is haunted by his own past," said a synopsis of the film.

The film also stars newcomer Garrett Backstrom as the teenage shooter Herman Howards.

John Buffalo Mailer, the son of Norman Mailer, adapted his play of the same name for the movie's screenplay.

Wilde recently filed for divorce from her husband, Tao Ruspoli, and Timberlake ended his romance with actress Jessica Biel last month.

E! News reported the pair, who co-starred in 2007's "Alpha Dog" and will soon be seen together in "Now," were out during the weekend on what appeared to be a date.

"Cool it, honeybadgers," Wilde Tweeted Monday in response to the report. "We are just friends and have been for years."
