Rumors that Lowe would move to "Men" have been swirling since Sheen was fired Monday from the show after weeks of erratic behavior.

Sheen later fanned the flames of the story by giving Lowe his blessing during a radio interview.

However, The Hollywood Reporter quoted "Parks and Recreation" executive producer Michael Schur as saying Wednesday night Lowe has signed a "multiyear contract" and "there's no truth" to the rumors he will leave "Parks" to appear on "Men."

"The Internet lit a match and set itself on fire," Schur said.

Lowe, who, like Sheen, was a popular film actor in the 1980s, has most recently co-starred on the TV series "Brothers & Sisters" and "The West Wing," opposite Sheen's father, Martin.

Lowe also appeared with Sheen's brother, actor-director Emilio Estevez, in the films "The Outsiders" and "St. Elmo's Fire."
