LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Actress and model Jaclyn Smith is assuring fans via Twitter that she wasn't shot and killed in Honduras Tuesday, contrary to rumors claiming she was.

Smith, 61, is best known for co-starring in the iconic television series "Charlie's Angels," alongside Farrah Fawcett, who died of cancer June 25.

TMZ said rumors have been swirling that Smith was gunned down in her home in Honduras.

However, her publicist, Jay Schwartz, insisted: "She is alive and well in Los Angeles. ... I spoke to her this morning."

Smith also posted a message on her Twitter page that reads: "Jaclyn is safe and home with her family. She is not in Honduras. It is a lie," TMZ said.
