UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., June 4 (UPI) -- U.S. rapper Eminem has confirmed he and Sacha Baron Cohen staged their much buzzed about run-in at the MTV Movie Awards show this week.

Dressed as his gay Austrian journalist alter-ego Bruno in a bottomless angel outfit, comedian Cohen dropped from a wire headfirst into Eminem's lap, prompting the hip-hop star and his entourage to storm out of the theater as the audience howled with laughter.

"Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards. I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag," Eminem told Rap Radar exclusively. "I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going 'nuts' so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it."

The rapper said that after he left the ceremony, he went back to his hotel room where he "laughed uncontrollably for about three hours."

"Especially after I saw it on air," he added.

Eminem denied reports claiming his hotel room was robbed, with jewelry worth $60,000 and a laptop taken while he was at the show.

"The only thing was that I lost a Nike watch that we were looking for. The rest it is made-up like half the other stuff out there," he told Rap Radar.
