'Jon & Kate,' 'What Not to Wear' renewed

LOS ANGELES, April 27 (UPI) -- TLC says it will kick off its summer schedule Memorial Day with a week of new series launches and the return of "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" and "What Not to Wear."

The network's upcoming slate of reality programming was announced Monday by TLC's President and General Manager Eileen O'Neill.

"TLC's new summer schedule is filled with relatable people in remarkable situations, sharing a window into other lives for viewers to escape and enjoy,"

O'Neill said in a statement. "It's a great time of the year to bring back two of our biggest series, and use that attention to launch new shows that we think will also become fan-favorites."

"Jon & Kate" is slated to start its fifth season Monday.

Immediately following, will be the series premiere of "Cake Boss," focusing on master baker Buddy Valastro as he struggles to make his bakery in Hoboken, N.J., a household name.

"The Little Couple," following newlyweds Bill Klein and Jen Arnold, premieres May 26 and picks up where the successful special "Little People Just Married" left off. Bill, a successful businessman, and Jen, a pediatrician, who are both under 4 feet tall, will share their perspectives on life, love and marriage, TLC said.

"What Not to Wear" will return for a seventh season May 29. Former "Blossom" star Mayim Bialik will be the show's first celebrity guest this season, the network said.

TLC said it will also air a new special called "Wedded to Perfection," which takes viewers inside the world of high-end weddings.
