SYDNEY, March 14 (UPI) -- The British band Coldplay said Saturday at an Australian benefit for bush fire and flood victims that it wished them the best.
Appearing at the Sound Relief concert in Sydney, singer Chris Martin and his fellow Coldplay stars ended their set by offering their best wishes to the victims of the fires in the state of Victoria and recent floods in Queensland, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Martin also helped begin the fundraising concert by introducing Australian John Farnham, who came on stage to sing "You're the Voice" with Coldplay.
"Ladies and gentleman, please welcome to sing the Australian national anthem, John Farnham,'' Martin said.
Along with Coldplay, Wolfmother and the Hoodoo Gurus also served as lead-ins to the concert headliner, the Bee-Gees.
The Morning Herald said all proceeds from the Sydney Cricket Ground event would be split between the victims of the bush fires and floods.
