LOS ANGELES, March 10 (UPI) -- Penny Marshall directed a soon-to-air episode of the U.S. sit-com "According to Jim," ABC announced.

"The Laverne & Shirley" star, who has since directed the movies "Big," "Awakenings," "A League of Their Own" and "Renaissance Man," hasn't headed up a film or TV show since 2001's "Riding in Cars with Boys," the Internet Movie Database indicates.

ABC said Marshall headed up the March 24 episode of "Jim," which finds main characters Jim and Cheryl -- played by Jim Belushi and Courtney Thorne-Smith -- developing an interest in yoga.
