LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- British pop singer Annie Lennox is scheduled to release her first retrospective album next month, J. Records announced.

"The Annie Lennox Collection," featuring 14 songs, is to go on sale Feb. 17.

"It seems like the time has come to release the 'Collection,'" Lennox said in statement. "I'm very proud of these songs. They are timeless and have become 'classics' in their own right."

The CD includes hits like "Little Bird," "Walking on Broken Glass," "Why," "No More I Love You's" and "A Whiter Shade of Pale," as well as two new songs that Lennox recorded especially for this collection -- "Pattern of My Life," written by Tom Chaplin of Keane, and a cover of "Shining Light," a song originally recorded in 2001 by Ash.

"I first discovered this song by Ash about six years ago, and I simply couldn't stop listening to it. It's so exultant that it virtually shimmers," Lennox said.

Lennox is slated to perform songs from her new collection and sit for an interview with New York Times chief pop music critic Jon Pareles at "The New York Times Talk Live -- An Evening with Annie Lennox" event in New York Feb. 10.
