NEW YORK, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Actress Lauren Velez, most recently seen on Showtime's "Dexter," will move over to ABC's "Ugly Betty," producers revealed.
Officials at the helm of the popular comedy are refusing to reveal little else, however, The Hollywood Reporter said.

It is known that Velez will appear in multiple episodes as nurse Elena and speculation is that she will be involved in the death of a major character, The Reporter said.
Velez will keep her role on "Dexter" as Miami Police Lt. Maria Laguerta. She has previously been seen in HBO's prison drama, "Oz," and the series "New York Undercover" on Fox.
