LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- U.S. pop and country star Jessica Simpson has agreed to sing on an upcoming installment of the competition series "Dancing with the Stars," ABC said Monday.

Actor Ted McGinley and comedian Jeffrey Ross, as well as their professional dance partners, were eliminated in the show's Season 7 premiere week. Another couple is scheduled to be sent home on the "Dancing with the Stars" results show, set to air Tuesday, the network said.

Simpson is slated to take the stage during the episode, accompanied by the professional dancers, to sing two songs -- her current hit "Come on Over" from her country album, "Do You Know," and "Angels," a special release cover.
