HOLLYWOOD, April 17 (UPI) -- Kristy Lee Cook, the horse trainer from Oregon, became the latest wannabe singer smoked on "American Idol."

The competitors performed songs by pop diva Mariah Carey, this week's guest mentor. Carey also performed during Wednesday's elimination show, as did former "American Idol" finalist Elliott Yamin, E! Online reported.

Cook got the boot for her country-tinged rendition of "Forever."

Two others who finished low in the voting but survived were Syesha Mercado and Brooke White.

Mercado sang "Vanishing" and White, whose performance of "Hero" prompted judge Simon Cowell to compare it to ordering a burger and getting a bun without meat, E! Online said.

Next week, the remaining six contestants will meet with mentor Andrew Lloyd Webber, the Broadway composer, and British singer Leona Lewis will perform her No. 1 single "Bleeding Love."
