LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- Four upcoming dates on Van Halen's North American tour have been postponed because guitarist Eddie Van Halen is undergoing medical tests.

A statement posted on the band's Web site Monday afternoon said concerts in Dallas, Cincinnati, Baltimore and Raleigh, N.C., have been rescheduled for April.

"According to Eddie Van Halen's physician, he is undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedures," the statement said. "Fans should retain their tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled concerts or ticket refunds will be issued at the original point of purchase."

No details regarding the musician's medical condition were given in the statement.

TMZ.com reported Sunday the remaining dates on the band's tour, which had been slated to run through April 19, were canceled. The entertainment news Web site cited unnamed sources as saying the gigs were scrapped because Eddie Van Halen has been having "issues."

The tour, which began in September, marks the first time popular singer David Lee Roth has performed with the band in 22 years.

Two of the postponed concert dates have been rescheduled in late April, days after the tour was to end.
