Harvard comedy troupe honors Walken

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Harvard University's cross-dressing comedy troupe, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, has made U.S. movie star Christopher Walken its Man of the Year.

The 64-year-old actor, known for his impressive acting along with an unusual voice, was presented with the troupe's trademark pudding pot award for his cinematic achievement during a gala event at the Massachusetts university, The Boston Globe said Saturday.

The Oscar-winning actor was even a good sport when asked to prove he was not one of the numerous celebrity imitators who mimic his unique visage and unmistakable voice.

"I have a birthmark," Walken said in response. "Otherwise, I don't know."

Despite Walken's success on the big screen in films such as "The Deer Hunter" and "Pulp Fiction," it was a "Saturday Night Live" skit he once performed in that ultimately became the focus of Friday's ceremony.

The Globe said requests for "more cowbell," the catch phrase of the skit, echoed throughout the ceremony and Walken again took it in stride.

"Harvard has all the cowbell it needs," the actor said.
