Most of Broadway has been shut down since the stagehands went on strike Nov. 10.

The two sides disagree regarding the number of stagehands needed to open a show and keep it running.

Both parties resumed negotiations Sunday for the first time since the strike began.

Playbill.com said the talks began Sunday morning and continued through 6:30 a.m. Monday.

In a statement posted on its Web site Monday, the League of American Theatres and Producers said, "Negotiations between the League of American Theatres and Producers and Local One have adjourned for 12 hours and will resume tonight at 7 p.m."

The "Superman Returns" actor and his bride walked down the aisle Saturday, four years after they met at hip Hollywood bowling alley Lucky Strike, People magazine reported. Routh was working there as a bartender and met Ford when her brother had his wedding rehearsal dinner party there.

Routh, 28, reportedly proposed to Ford, whom he has called his personal kryptonite, last summer in Glastonbury, England, but the pair kept their engagement a secret, the magazine said.

Ford wore a Junko Yoshioka sheath dress and Neil Lane diamond earrings, People magazine said. Routh wore a Looysen Fine Clothing cashmere suit.

Kidman won't play 'Lady from Shanghai'

NEW YORK, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Australian actress Nicole Kidman will not star in a planned remake of Orson Welles' 1948 thriller, "The Lady from Shanghai."

Asked about reports she is considering a role in Wong Kar Wai's remake, Kidman told reporters in New York: "I'm not willing to go and live in another country like that for a year right now. I'm just recently married (to country music star Keith Urban) so that is my priority. So, I am not going to be going off and doing 'The Lady from Shanghai.' It's just not right for my life right now."

Kidman's indie comedy-drama, "Margot at the Wedding," is in theaters now and she will soon be seen in the fantasy flick, "The Golden Compass."

Studio wants Crowe for Pitt 'Play' part

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Universal Pictures is courting Russell Crowe to take over the role Brad Pitt recently vacated in the U.S. film version of the U.K miniseries, "State of Play."

Crowe is expected to make his decision early this week, Variety.com reported Monday.

Pitt left the project last week because of differences regarding the movie's shooting script.

The movie studio said the actor violated a pay-or-play commitment and is reportedly considering suing him. Pitt's camp said he was essentially forced out of a movie he wanted to do because the studio wouldn't wait for the writers' strike to be resolved so a rewrite could be done on the script, the trade paper said.

If a replacement isn't found and production on the film doesn't start soon, Universal could risk losing some of the movie's remaining stars who have other projects lined up after "Play."

Edward Norton, Helen Mirren, Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright Penn and Jason Bateman are also set to star in the thriller.
