Striking writers lash out at DeGeneres

NEW YORK, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Striking East Coast writers told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres she isn't welcome to film on Nov. 19 in New York City, The Hollywood Reporter said.

DeGeneres resumed filming her daytime talk show Tuesday despite the Writers Guild of America walkout. She's the only A-list talk show host to cross picket lines, the Hollywood Reporter said.

"All the other talk show-variety hosts like Letterman, Leno, Jon Stewart and Conan O'Brien have been in solidarity with us," WGA East President Michael Winship said.

DeGeneres said she supports her writers, but that her daytime competitors are airing new episodes and she differs from network-owned late-night talk shows because her show is syndicated to local TV stations and she's contractually obligated to provide original programming.

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" is scheduled to tape from New York City on Nov. 19 and 20.
