Five of Nelson's six children performed his song "A Peaceful Solution."

"It all came from a dream I had," said Amy Nelson. "Or at least the title did."

Evan Smith, editor of Texas Monthly, announced that Nelson will appear on the cover for the seventh time in an issue marking his 75th birthday. That will give Nelson a record for the cover, outdoing President George W. Bush by one.

"He's the antenna of the age in terms of socially engaged artists," said Gavin Garcia, executive director of the sponsoring group. "He's made a huge footprint in the peace and conflict area."
