MLK's daughter, Bernice, at hip-hop awards

ATLANTA, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- The youngest daughter of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King attended Black Entertainment Television’s award ceremony Saturday in Atlanta.

BET honored members of the hip-hop community in the annual ceremony at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center.

“It’s a celebration of Atlanta,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quoted King as saying.

Though King, an activist in her own right, told the Journal-Constitution she wasn’t a fan of any particular artist at the ceremony, she did mention liking the song “You Make Me Better” by Fabolus and Ne-Yo because “They gave props to my mom and that touched my heart, it really did.”
