Cusack to be honored at Chicago film fest

CHICAGO, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor and Illinois native John Cusack has been chosen to receive a career achievement award at the 43rd annual Chicago International Film Festival.

Cusack will be in the Windy City Friday for the premiere of his new movie, "Grace is Gone," at the Music Box Theatre. He is slated to accept the Gold Hugo Award for Career Achievement prior to the screening.

In the film, Cusack plays a man whose poor eyesight kept him from the military career he always wanted. With a job at a home supply store and a wife who is a sergeant fighting in Iraq, he finds himself relating to his two young daughters in a new way when tragedy strikes and he tries to bond with them before telling them the terrible news.
