HBO announces next season line-up

NEW YORK, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- HBO has decided to bring back rookie comedy “Flight of the Conchords” and veteran comedy “Entourage” for another season of Sunday fare.

It will be the fifth season on the Home Box Office network for “Entourage,” which was widely expected to be picked back up. But the re-signing of newcomer "Flight of the Conchords," a quirky show that follows two New Zealand musicians trying to make it in New York, was the real surprise, said The Hollywood Reporter Sunday.

The show stars the music-comedy of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie and quickly developed a cult following but not quite as large as the following for "Entourage."

“’Entourage' is a full-fledged cultural phenomenon, and 'Flight of the Conchords' has quickly become a show to watch,” said HBO Entertainment President Carolyn Strauss. “I'm delighted that we'll be bringing new seasons of these distinctive series to our subscribers.”
