LAS VEGAS , Aug. 9 (UPI) -- After losing its singer and drummer, the U.S. hard rock group Fuel faced a precarious future before making its new album, "Angels & Devils."
"We just kinda went, 'What do we do now?' " recalled guitarist Carl Bell, who remains with bassist Jeff Abercrombie from the band that formed in 1989 in Kenton, Tenn.
"We basically figured that I've written 98 percent of everything, lyrics and music, and that Jeff and I have invested way too much time in this to fold up our tents and go home. We decided there was too much work to be done with Fuel, so let's keep it going."
Fuel briefly talked with "American Idol" finalist Chris Daughtry about replacing frontman Brett Scallions before bringing Toryn Green into the band. Former Godsmack drummer Tommy Stewart rounds out Fuel's current lineup.
The band is currently touring for the first time in more than three years to promote "Angels & Devils."
