NEW YORK, July 27 (UPI) -- ABC and frequent guest Whoopi Goldberg are reported to be in final negotiations for the actress-comedian to take a seat at "The View" round table in New York.
The network is also reportedly in talks with stand-up comic Sherri Shepherd about joining the show, Variety reported.

ABC is searching for a replacement for Rosie O'Donnell, who left the show in May after her contract wasn't renewed, as well as an unfilled slot held by Star Jones Reynolds, who was fired in 2006.
An announcement on both signings could come early next week, sources told Variety.
