LONDON, July 16 (UPI) -- A British court has been hearing testimony from a 25-year-old woman who claims actor Chris Langham started having sex with her when she was 14.
The 58-year-old TV star denies he is guilty of the 10 counts of indecent assault and two counts of buggery he is accused of committing between January 1996 and April 2000, the Daily Mail reported Monday.
His alleged victim told the Maidstone Crown Court she was stunned when Langham first kissed her during an acting lesson when she was only 14, the British newspaper said.
"He said it was so I could relate to the character and it would help me with Shakespeare, because I wasn't from a close family so I didn't understand the meaning of affection and love to the extent I could have done," she recalled.
The woman admitted she didn't try to discourage the married actor when he seduced her on subsequent occasions or when he offered her gifts.
"From what I remember, I didn't really have much emotion or feeling," she said. "I guess it was OK because he was nice and I trusted him."
