Defense Force come to defense of TV star

SYDNEY, July 9 (UPI) -- Australia's Defense Force saved the honor of "Sea Patrol" star Lisa McCune after a viewer complained of McCune wearing active service ribbons in a photograph.

The ribbons Lisa wore were the Australian Active Service Medal, the Iraq Medal and the Australian Defense Medal. The viewer complained of "unlawful wearing and use" of the medals both he and his wife were awarded, the Brisbane Courier-Mail reported Monday.

The Defense Force said, basically, it's not illegal for actors to wear such medals in the course of their work.
