LOS ANGELES, May 22 (UPI) -- Laila Ali and partner Maksim Chmerkovsky placed third Tuesday in the final night of competition on the Los Angeles ballroom floor of "Dancing With The Stars."

Earning a perfect 60-point total from the three judges for their mambo wasn't enough for Ali and Chmerkovsky. The judges' votes counted for 50 percent of a couple's score and the voting public accounted for the other 50 percent.

"I had so much fun," said Ali, a professional boxer. "This is so different from what I normally do."
