REDMOND, Wash., May 16 (UPI) -- Xbox 360 gamers Wednesday could download a beta version of the highly anticipated "Halo 3," a futuristic war game scheduled to hit U.S. stores this fall.
Game players wanting a sneak peak at this year's most anticipated game can download the beta from a copy of "Crackdown" until June 6, the Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday.
Whether in the throes of a traditional death match or skirmishing for territories, beta testers report the Redmond, Wash., Microsoft Game Studios' "Halo 3" preview delivers -- only now in high-definition landscapes delivered by the power of the Xbox 360, the Detroit newspaper said.
The beta is a small, public, multiplayer version that offers gaming on three levels. The full version is expected to be available in stores Sept. 23.
