LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 1 (UPI) -- Dannielynn Birkhead, daughter of Larry Birkhead and the late Anna Nicole Smith, landed at a Kentucky airport Tuesday after a fuss-less flight from Nassau.
Daughter and father were heading to Birkhead's relatives' home in Louisville for a visit before traveling to California, where Birkhead lives.
The child has been in good spirits the entire day, Access Hollywood reported Tuesday. A reporter said the 7-month-old girl "ate, slept, played and ate again. She barely fussed."
Birkhead was confirmed the girl's father through DNA testing. Once he was confirmed as her father, Birkhead arranged for a corrected birth certificate -- the original listed Smith's longtime companion Howard K. Stern as the father -- and a passport for the child to leave the country. He had to agree to return to the Bahamas in June for the final disposition of the custody matter.
Birkhead also had to overcome a custody challenge by Virgie Arthur, Smith's estranged mother, who tried to block the departure of Birkhead and the baby from the Bahamas.
