Scott, Crowe reunite for 'Nottingham'

HOLLYWOOD, Del., April 30 (UPI) -- Ridley Scott is all set to direct Russell Crowe in "Nottingham," Hollywood's latest treatment of the tale of Robin Hood.

Production is scheduled to begin next year, Variety said. Universal Pictures bought the script earlier this year at auction.

Crowe stars as the Sheriff of Nottingham in the revisionist interpretation in which Nottingham is portrayed as a noble lawman working for a corrupt king and involved in a love triangle with Maid Marion and Robin Hood.

The film reunites Scott and Crowe. Scott directed the Academy Award winner in "Gladiator," "A Good Year" and the upcoming "American Gangster."
