Halliwell's baby has 'Spicy' christening

LONDON, April 20 (UPI) -- Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell and Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham have patched things up, and "Ginger" has asked "Posh" to be godmother to her daughter.

Beckham, who had been on the outs with Halliwell after she left the group, is to fly in from Madrid for the private christening ceremony for 11-month-old Bluebell Madonna this weekend in London, The (London) Sun reported Friday.

"Victoria was thrilled to be asked to be godmother," a source told the newspaper. "Although they fell out when Geri walked out on the Spice Girls years ago, they became really close again. Geri's relied on her old friend for advice on motherhood and is delighted Victoria is flying over."

Melanie "Sporty Spice" Chisholm and Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton are expected to be on hand, but Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown will not. The baby's father, scriptwriter Sacha Gervasi, is also expected to be missing from the event.

Standing up as godfather will be Kenny Goss, the companion of singer George Michael.
