Bob Seger and Cobo Arena may retire

DETROIT, March 18 (UPI) -- Bob Seger, in perhaps his final show, played over the weekend at Detroit's Cobo Arena, which may soon be demolished.

Nearly 17,000 fans showed up for Seger's show Saturday. Seger has so far not commented on rumors of his performance retirement, the Detroit News reported. Also unclear are future plans for Cobo Arena, which has been the site of many music spectacles for a generation.

"This was his best concert, but I know it could be his last," said Kelly Martines, of Warren, Mich. "I hope it's not the last, but, you know, you cling to anything."

Among some of the favorites that Seger played were "Rock 'n' Roll Never Forgets," "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll" and an extended version of "Katmandu."

At the end of the show, the enthusiastic crowd called Seger back to stage twice for encores.
