Preshow has most Grammy awards

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- About 90 percent of the Grammy awards given out Sunday in Los Angeles will be announced during the preshow, with the main event focusing on performances.

The awards ceremony, being held at the Staples Center, is scheduled to feature a reunion of the rock band the Police, as well as a special performance with Justin Timberlake and the winner of the national My Grammy Moment singing competition, the New York Daily News reported.

It will mark the first public performance by the Police in more than 23 years, not counting the group's 2003 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Police are also expected to announce a reunion tour during a press conference at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles on Monday, the Daily News said.

Also performing at the Grammys are Smokey Robinson, Lionel Richie, Earth, Wind & Fire and, Chris Brown in an ode to R&B.

"American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood and Nashville sensation Rascal Flatts will also be performing at the show.

Beyonce, T.I., Christina Aguilera, Wyclef Jean with Shakira, John Legend, John Mayer, Corinne Bailey Rae, James Blunt, Gnarls Barkley, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Dixie Chicks will also perform.
