Bench warrant issued for Daniel Baldwin

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- A judge issued a bench warrant for actor Daniel Baldwin after his failure to appear in a Newport Beach, Calif., court for arraignment on felony charges.

The $25,000 bench warrant issued Tuesday means that if Baldwin is arrested, he will be held in lieu of $25,000 bail, Farrah Emami, an Orange County district attorney's office spokeswoman, told the Los Angeles Times.

Baldwin, one of four show business brothers, was scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on felony charges of unlawfully taking a vehicle and of receiving stolen property, Emami said. The actor faces up to three years in prison if convicted of the charges.

The charges arise from a November incident when Orange County police picked up Baldwin driving the vehicle of a friend who had reported it stolen.
