Britain regains its queen from back injury

LONDON, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Britain's Queen Elizabeth II was back on full royal duty this week with a lavish party in London after recovering from a recent back injury.

Hello magazine said that while the injury had forced the British royal to cancel several engagements, the queen was back in the public spotlight at a Ritz Hotel gala event with her husband, Prince Phillip, in tow.

Also attending the glamorous event with the 80-year-old British head of state were her granddaughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, and their father Prince Andrew.

The magazine said that by appearing in a floor-length violet gown and partying until early the next morning with the event's more than 300 guests, Queen Elizabeth II was said to be in full royal form and fully recuperated from her injury.
