Doherty loses parental visitation rights

LONDON, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- British singer Pete Doherty has been banned from seeing his 3-year-old son due to his reported ongoing drug problem and bad behavior.

The Babyshambles lead singer has lost visitation rights to his son, Astile, with Lisa Moorish until Doherty has cleaned up his act and distanced himself from his life of drugs and alcohol, the Daily Mail reported.

The separation of father and son comes only four weeks after Moorish reintroduced Astile into the rocker's life and was due in part to the singer's recent drug possession arrest.

"Lisa really thought he was making an effort and rewarded him with access to their son on condition he didn't mess up again," a friend of Doherty's claimed.

"But after he got arrested last weekend on suspicion of possession of class A drugs, she has warned him to clean up his act or he won't be spending Christmas with his son," the source added. "She sees it as the ultimate punishment for Pete."

The Daily Mail said that the family disruption comes just as Doherty's girlfriend, supermodel Kate Moss, has threatened to end their relationship due to the rocker's flamboyant lifestyle and the singer reportedly checked himself into rehab.
