Reese files for divorce from Ryan

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Former Hollywood heartthrobs Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe are headed for divorce court in Los Angeles.

The petition filed by Witherspoon on Wednesday in Superior Court cites irreconcilable differences and seeks joint custody of the couple's two children, People magazine said Thursday.

The filing also asks the court to have the children, Ava, 7, and 3-year-old Deacon, live with Witherspoon, and deny any request for spousal support for Phillippe.

The couple was married in 1999 and separated late last month.
