LONDON, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- England's Daniel Craig says he accidentally told Pierce Brosnan he was replacing him as James Bond, a British newspaper reports.
Craig told the Daily Mirror he innocently told Brosnan he had been offered the role as 007 under the mistaken assumption Brosnan had already been given the bad news.

To his credit, Brosnan displayed a stiff upper lip.
"He said, 'Go for it,'" Craig recalled. "He didn't hit me."
Craig said he nearly turned the role down for that reason; however he will make his debut as the dapper secret agent next month in "Casino Royale."
