Talk show host Douglas dead at age 81

PALM BEACH, Fla., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Former TV talk show host Mike Douglas has died in Palm Beach, Fla., at 81.

Douglas -- who interviewed celebrities like Truman Capote and Barbra Streisand as host of the long-running hit "The Mike Douglas Show" -- died Friday from an unspecified cause, "Entertainment Tonight" reported.

The World War II veteran was best known for his talk show, which ran from 1961-82, but he also had a successful career as a big band singer during the '40s and '50s. He had a Top 10 hit in 1966 with "The Men in My Little Girl's Life."

Many of his fans also likely will remember Douglas as the voice of the animated Prince Charming in the classic 1950 Disney film "Cinderella," said "Entertainment Tonight."
