LONDON, July 28 (UPI) -- A "groundbreaking" Web cast of a 66-concert tour of the British band, The Who, has been scrapped over a disagreement between Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey.
The Who had promoted the Web cast of its world tour as unprecedented, the BBC reported.
The band hired cameramen, sound crew, vision mixers and technicians to launch an online experience that was to be "truly groundbreaking."
Townshend said his partner did not understand how "the Web has any real contribution to make to our career," and did not want to spend time or money "mortgaging my half of the stage," he said.
Disappointed, Townshend said he would continue to discuss the topic with Daltrey, but would not bully him.
Although they are partners, Townshend said the two "have no unified joint vision or strategy for The Who or for creative projects in general."
The two band members were "in full accord about our lack of accord," as they "always have been," Townshend said.
