Auction features lost Jimi Hendrix song

NEW YORK, July 25 (UPI) -- Bidders will have a chance to buy a rare lost Jimi Hendrix track at New York's Ocean Tomo Fall 2006 Live Intellectual Property Auction.

A press release from Ocean Tomo LLC said that the event, scheduled for Oct. 26, will offer the highest bidder the rights to "Station Break," a 40-year-old song from the legendary guitarist's earliest recordings.

The never-before-released song, which was reportedly recorded by Hendrix while he was still a solo artist, was found in 1994 by its co-composer, R.S.V.P. President Jerry Simon, at his home in Woodstock, N.Y.

"Station Break" was said to have been recorded at the same time as other Hendrix classics such as "I'm a Fool for You," "Kato's Special" and "No Such Animal."

Now the track will join numerous offered trademarks, patents, copyrights, and domain names in the first-ever live auction to include such items, the release said.
