SAN DIEGO, July 22 (UPI) -- Marvel's "Iron Man" cartoon will debut on TV next fall, months before the Jon Favreau-helmed film "Iron Man" is slated to premiere, Daily Variety reports.
Marvel announced the "Iron Man" cartoon plans at a party unveiling new Marvel-inspired Hasbro toys at a convention in San Diego, the newspaper said.

The strategy for "Iron Man" is similar to that of the "Fantastic Four" franchise, which was adapted for television and will appear on Cartoon Network next month.
The live-action film "Fantastic Four 2," produced by 20th Century Fox, is slated to hit theaters in June 2007.
