'The View' brings in former anchor

LOS ANGELES, July 14 (UPI) -- "The View" which has been host to guest anchors since Star Jones Reynolds left, is bringing in former anchor Debbie Matenopoulos on July 25.

Matenopoulos was a co-host on "The View" from 1997 until she was fired in 1999, Access Hollywood reported Friday. She went from "The View" to the TV Guide Channel and then to the syndicated program, "Good Day Live," she also recently became a co-host on e!'s pop culture series, "The Daily 10."

But it seems that Barbara Walters has put the past behind her and asked Matenopoulos to guest host an episode of "The View."

The show has also seen a 5-percent ratings increase since it started having guest hosts, said TV Guide.
