Rocker Keith Richards back on stage

MILAN, Italy, July 12 (UPI) -- Rocker Keith Richards has made his return to the rock 'n' roll scene with a concert in Milan, Italy, after suffering a head injury in April.

The 62-year-old Rolling Stones guitarist was on stage at the San Siro stadium in Milan as the band began the European leg of its "A Bigger Bang" tour, the BBC reported Wednesday.

Lead singer Mick Jagger made jokes about his bandmate's "head problems" during the show.

Speaking in Italian, Jagger made a joking connection between Richards' mishap and French footballer Zinedine Zidane's head butt on Italy's Marco Materazzi during the World Cup final.

"Materazzi and Richards have something in common -- they both recently had head-related problems," he said.

The band postponed 15 concerts because of Richards' fall from a tree in Fiji.
