Swayze delays London stage debut

LONDON, July 8 (UPI) -- Hollywood star Patrick Swayze has had to postpone his London stage debut due to a chest infection.

Swayze was to play Nathan Detroit in Michael Grandage's revival of "Guys and Dolls" at the West End's Piccadilly Theatre from July 10 to Sept. 2.

Plans now call form him to appear opposite Claire Sweeney's Miss Adelaide from July 24 to Sept. 23, Playbill reported.

Sweeney is keeping to the original schedule, while Andrew Playfoot will be Nathan Detroit until Swayze joins the show, Playbill said.

Swayze is best known for his movies "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing." Onstage he has been seen in "Chicago" and "Grease" on Broadway.
