Naomi Campbell in court for assault

NEW YORK, June 27 (UPI) -- A lawsuit has been filed in Manhattan Supreme Court against supermodel Naomi Campbell for assault.

Gaby Gibson, a former maid of the model, claims that the 36-year-old Campbell hit her in the head with a cell phone because she couldn't find a pair of the model's jeans, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

Gibson is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Campbell's spokeswoman has declined comment on the suit.
