BBC Radio 3 listeners voted Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra conductor Marin Alsop their favorite person in the classical arena while BBC Radio 3 was honored for its program, "A Bach Christmas."

The award for best singer went to U.S. soprano Joyce DiDonato for her performance in the "Barber of Seville" and the audience development award went to the London Sinfonietta for its outreach programs.

Tenor Andrew Kennedy was named best young artist, following in the footsteps of Edward Gardner, who recently became the youngest ever music director of English National Opera.
