LOS ANGELES, March 24 (UPI) -- Los Angeles-based Cinema Libre Studio has acquired North American distribution rights for the sequel to the 1999 Oscar-nominated "Buena Vista Social Club."
Wim Wenders' docudrama, "The Sons of Buena Vista," is expected to hit U.S. theaters this summer, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The late singer/composer Pio Leyva stars in the film, introducing the next generation of talent in Cuba, The Reporter said.
Leyva died of a heart attack in Havana Thursday. He was 88.
