Judge refuses to dismiss Love civil suit

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- A judge in Santa Monica, Calif., Wednesday refused to dismiss a civil suit filed against rocker/actress Courtney Love.

Los Angeles musician Kristin King filed the suit against Love for a 2004 assault.

Love pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault in criminal court and paid King $2,700 in restitution, but King's lawsuit says that was not enough, MTV.com reported.

King's attorney, Gloria Allred, said a court date for the next hearing has not been set.
