Seven films vie for sound editing Oscar

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Seven films were revealed in contention for sound editing Oscars Tuesday, including Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and "King Kong."

"Memoirs of a Geisha," "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith," "Walk the Line" and "War of the Worlds" round out the competition, Daily Variety reported.

Ten minute clips from each film will be screened by the sound editing award committee, which will then trim the field to three.

Nominees for the 78th annual Academy Awards will be announced Jan. 31.
