Fox creates new film division for teens

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Fox Filmed Entertainment Tuesday announced the creation of a new division to develop movies specifically for teens and young adults.

The yet-to-be-named division will produce and acquire up to eight cutting-edge films as well as create related content for Internet, mobile devices and other emerging technology, Fox said in a news release. The division will work closely with the newly formed Fox Interactive Media, My Space and IGN.

Fox Searchlight President Peter Rice will assume control of the new division.

"Napoleon Dynamite," "Garden State" and "Sideways" were just a few of the films released by Fox Searchlight since Rice assumed the presidency in 2000.
