LOS ANGELES, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Actor Jim Carrey has signed on to star as Robert Ripley in director Tim Burton's film about the creator of "Ripley's Believe It or Not."
The action/adventure film will follow the newspaper columnist as he searches for the oddities of the world, Daily Variety reported.

Filming is scheduled to start next October with tentative release in late 2007.
Meanwhile, Carrey fans can catch him in "Fun with Dick and Jane" opening Dec. 21 with Tea Leoni and Alec Baldwin.
